Recreational Services

The Arc’s Recreation Program offers a comprehensive social and recreational program for people with disabilities of all ages and abilities. The programs facilitate the development of leisure and recreation skills, socialization, independence, and overall enhancement of the quality of life.

All new individuals must set up an appointment with the Recreation Director prior to participation. Every participant must complete an Emergency/ Medical/ Information release form to register with the Recreation Program. This form must be updated each year.

Dances

Each year we host at least 4 dances for teens and adults. These seasonal dances have included Halloween, Winter Holiday, St. Patrick’s Day, and a themed Spring Formal. Dances are a chance to get your groove on, socialize with old and new friends, and enjoy some good food!

Wellness For Life

The Wellness for Life Program includes educational and physical activities. The program is led by a physical therapist who incorporates adaptive physical activities from more than 100 possible exercises. We believe that everyone, despite having a disability, can improve his/her overall well-being through improved fitness, nutrition, and self-worth activities.

Summer Events

Summer programs might include a transition program; day trips to places such as amusement parks, museums, and day cruises; evening activities such as movie and game nights, cookouts, and karaoke. Special Events

Programs might include cooking classes, painting classes, outdoor activities, craft nights, and day and overnight trips. To find out more information about recreational activities, be sure to join our mailing and email lists.
