Kevin Anderson has been a participant in activities sponsored by The Arc of Greater Prince William for many years, and from that first day he walked through our door, he’s been a gifted leader. Some people spend years developing leadership skills. Kevin was born with a leadership quality and style that set him apart from the very beginning.
Kevin was elected as the first President of the S.T.A.R.S. Program (Soaring Together and Reaching Success) when that program was founded in 2007. Kevin‘s organized and “in charge” style ensured great meetings and highly successful events such as trips, socials, and volunteer work performed by all the members of S.T.A.R.S.
In 2011, The Arc was approached with a unique opportunity from the Lake Ridge Lions Club to form a Lions Club within our agency. It would be the first ever Lions Club organized specifically for members with disabilities, and what a success it’s been! The first president was Kevin Anderson of course. To this day Kevin continues to be a critical player in the success of the Arc Lions.
Kevin is an outstanding man who has served this agency and community with outstanding commitment and leadership. He was awarded the Star of Leadership at The Arc’s 50th Anniversary in October 2014.
