Direct Support Professionals

Full-time and Part-Time positions available!!!

Join our team of professionals! We are an extremely service-oriented and client-focused organization supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the greater Prince William area. We are seeking bright, dependable hard-working, compassionate professionals to work in our group homes.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: DSPs will provide direct support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Great job for certified nursing assistants and college students- field of study relates to Healthcare Service. Must have experience working in the healthcare services field and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

REQUIREMENTS: Written, communication and computer skills, a valid Virginia Driver’s license, a licensed U.S. driver with a good driving record during the past three years of continuous driving experience, the ability to attend and pass onsite training classes within the first 30 days of hire. Eligibility determined by Criminal and Child Protective Services Background investigations conducted for all employees. Minimum high school diploma or GED.

Administrative Assistant for Supported Living Program

The Arc of GPW/INSIGHT is seeking a Administrative Assistant for our Supported Living Program. This program is for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities capable of living semi-independently. One to three people reside in townhouses or apartments. Each resident receives the degree of responsibility and supervision required to meet his or her individual needs.

Job Duties:

  • Rotate on-call emergency phone every other week.
  • Participate and assist as needed in staff meetings and in-service training sessions.
  • Notify the Maintenance Department of household maintenance needs and follows-up to ensure repairs/issues were addressed.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with staff, individuals, families, and other agencies and individuals dealing with the agency.
  • Actively be involved with the residents’ daily living skills, promoting as much independence as possible.
  • Perform ongoing assessments of the service needs of individuals.
  • Encourage integration of individuals into the community.
  • Follow the proper written protocols for each individual as stated in his/her Plan ensuring proper documentation in Therap.
  • Demonstrate sound fiscal management of individual accounts in accordance with established INSIGHT spending guidelines and procedures.
  • Assist with the money management of the individuals’ accounts, including but not limited to writing checks, tracking expenditures/deposits in QuickBooks, accounting for receipts, requesting from trust funds and reviewing financial status and budgets with staff and individuals monthly.
  • Arranges and coordinates cleaning services for individuals.
  • Research, books, holds meeting with individuals and accompanies then on yearly vacation.
  • Audit financial ledgers for each individual monthly.
  • Review and send in monthly credit card receipts to accounting.
  • Complete monthly social security reporting for individuals that have employment on the first of the month.
  • Process all renewal paperwork for SNAP, ID, Passport, Housing, Agency leases, Medicaid/Medicare, Social Security rep payee forms and the individual’s taxes.
  • Submit resident census reports to state and county office.
  • Prepare and submit Quarterly Reports, documenting progress of individuals.
  • Update information as needed for each individual’s profile, filing cabinet, emergency red bag, EDN binder, MAR binder, medical binder.
  • Update individual’s red bag as needed at a minimum yearly
  • Process office/individuals mail, complete filing, order office supplies and preforms a yearly purge of individual files.
  • Prepare and complete monthly van paperwork.
  • Maintain all SLP vehicles with HomeTowne Auto and notify Program Manager
  • Protect the human rights of the residents and safeguard their confidentiality.
  • Operate supported living program according to the policies and procedures established by the agency.
  • Act as an appropriate role model.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Compensation and Benefits:  This is a non-exempt hourly position, $20.00/hour.  The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc. offers excellent company-paid benefits including health insurance, life insurance, retirement program, short/long term disability and paid time off for all eligible employees! Front Desk Receptionist

The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc, a respected non-profit provider of residential, recreation, and day services for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), is seeking a full-time Front Desk Receptionist. The work schedule is 8:30am – 5pm Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. The hourly range for the position is $15-$17 depending on experience.  In this role, you will be the “face” of our agency. You’ll be the first-person visitors and staff speak to when they call or visit our main office. Join a dynamic team dedicated to providing quality care to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. 

Responsibilities:

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Answer phones, greet clients and guests, and act as primary backup to the First Receptionist.
  • Maintain cleanliness of reception area, mail room, and all conference rooms.
  • Open and distribute all mail and incoming deliveries.
  • Prepare and send mailings as requested.
  • Create and organize seminar folders.
  • Report maintenance and facilities issues to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • Front Desk/Reception experience receptionist: 1+ year (Required)
  • Microsoft Office Suite: 2+ years (Required)
  • Multi-line phone systems: 2+ years (Required)

Qualifications (Required):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, a client service orientation, attention to detail, and self-starter attitude required.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and anticipate support requirements.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality regarding agency, staff, and clientele matters.

Volunteer Coordinator

The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc, a respected non-profit provider of residential, recreation, and day services for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, is seeking Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, interview and place applicants for volunteer work and attend recruiting events within the community to attract qualified candidates. Additionally, this position will serve as the Systems Administrator for Relias Training Platform. This position is located at our main office in Woodbridge, VA and pays $20/hour, Full-time, 35 hours/week Monday – Friday. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or related work experience in areas such as human services, nonprofit administration/management, social work or resource management. Volunteer Coordinator job duties include: Work with Marketing and Public Relations and professional associations to publicize opportunities for volunteers. Develop and maintain relationships with other volunteer organizations within the area, including universities for education interns. Develop, promote, and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization. Survey staff regularly to assess needs for volunteer assistance. Maintain Volunteer Service Descriptions for each volunteer assignment. Ensure volunteers are staffed to support the various areas of operations, to include recreation events, special events, supportive living, group homes, childcare, and the day support programs. Conduct and/or arrange for volunteer orientation and training. Organize and participate in volunteer recognition programs and special events. Evaluate all aspects of volunteer programs to ensure effectiveness and to recommend/implement changes as appropriate. Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation.

Systems Administrator for Relias Training Platform duties include: Data entry for tracking all training qualifications for all Arc employees. Importing new staff users into the Relias system. Inputting the training dates for the re-certification classes each month for those employees working at The Arc for one or more years. Assigning training modules to staff who need additional training. Direct point of contact for problems/issues with the system that staff may inquire. Responsible for re-setting passwords and assisting employees with logging into the system. Communications with Relias when the system has cliques or issues.

Director of Residential Services

The Arc of Greater Prince William/INSIGHT, Inc. is currently seeking a Director of Residential Services to provide oversight to community-based residential programs throughout Prince William County. Reporting to the Executive Director and accountable to the Governing Board, this is a key senior management position that requires leadership, creativity, strong organizational skills and knowledge/implementation of best practices in services and supports for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The ideal applicant will have demonstrated experience with managing a residential team and providing high quality individual-driven supports while also ensuring full compliance with program, agency and regulatory guidelines.  Experience providing mentoring, leadership and supervision to program managers is a must.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BS in human services field with at least 10 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, five years in a residential setting and four years in a supervisory role; or MA in human services field or health administrative field with at least 5 years working with individuals with developmental disabilities, 4 years of which should be in a supervisory role and at least 3 years in a residential setting preferred. An equivalent combination of education, work experience, and knowledge will be considered.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships while addressing complex and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends/ ability to be on call 24 hours, 7 days a week.
  • Able to drive and meet agency insurance requirements.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to understand agency billing and reimbursement regulations such as Medicaid/Medicare.
  • Ability to work independently and be accurate, efficient and organized.
  • Ability to respond to stressful and crisis situations in a calm and professional manner.

Assistant Program Managers - Residential Group Homes

We are seeking a bright, dependable hard-working, compassionate Assistant Program Manager for one of our group homes.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant Group Home Program Manager position supports individuals living in group homes throughout Prince William County, VA. The position involves supervision of staff and direct interventions with individuals and case management. Applicants for Assistant Program Manager must have a minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and a High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working in the community with persons with disabilities REQUIRED.

Child Care Teacher Aides

Child Care Teacher Aide – We have two Child Care Centers: Robert Day (Manassas) and Muriel Humphrey (Dale City) and are always looking for Childcare workers who want to go the extra mile to support children with special needs in a fun and caring atmosphere.

We have openings at Muriel Humphrey and Robert Day in Manassas. Candidate must be willing to learn how to care for children and be at least 16 years old.
